Santos Saúl Álvarez Barragán, better known as “Canelo” Alvarez is a Mexican professional boxer who is now the unified super-middleweight world champion. Alvarez has 10 world titles, ranging from light-middleweight to light heavyweight, in four weight divisions. Since 2020, he has held the World Boxing Association, World Boxing Council, and Ring magazine titles. Canelo Alvarez is one of the world’s highest-paid boxers. From June 2018 to June 2019, he earned $95 million, followed by $40 million the following year. Alvarez had a net worth of $140 million as of March 1, 2021. With a win rate of almost 95%, Canelo Alvarez is considered one of the most successful boxers of his generation. Alvarez has won 55 fights and only lost one so far. That justifies how much he’s paid and ultimately all the riches. But what we all want to know is what exactly does Alvarez spends his millions on. Like all rich celebrities, Canelo also would want to spend his earnings on luxurious over the top items and we’re here for it. Taking a look at the things Canelo Alvarez spends his money on we would obviously start with his famous collection of vehicles.
McLaren P1 – In 1993, the renowned McLaren F1 was released. It’s an engineering masterpiece, in our opinion. It features a gold plated engine bay and a driver seat in the middle of the car in typical McLaren fashion, but the McLaren P1 that was to be the car’s successor couldn’t just be another famous car with sleek lines and a fancy name; it had to be distinct, and that’s exactly what it was. In every sense of the term, the McLaren P1 is a groundbreaking vehicle. It features a lot of composite materials, a hybrid engine, and a style that radiates luxurious appeal and, perhaps most significantly, speed. Because the automobile is so fast, it would fit right in among a collection of supercars. Its twin-turbocharged engine can reach speeds that would make a passenger scream for mercy, vomit or both. Of course, there are other cars like this in Canelo Alvarez’s collection, but even amidst beasts like the Ferrari Testarossa, the McLaren shows to be in a class of its own. It’s worth upwards of $1,000,000.
Bugatti – The Bugatti Chiron is likely one of the world’s most expensive and exclusive automobiles. Only 500 of these cars were built, which gives you a good indication of how rare they are. Yes, just 500 Bugatti Chiron exist, and you can bet that each one is owned by the world’s wealthiest and most influential people. Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best footballers in the world, is one of these individuals. The Bugatti Chiron is also the world’s fastest road car. The Chiron is Bugatti’s quickest car ever, and the Waze design turns it into an engineering marvel. Simply told, there are a few other cars that offer the same level of luxury as the Chiron does. It’s one of Canelo Alvarez’s several vehicles. It cost Canelo a significant sum of money, approximately $2.7 million.
Lamborghini Gallardo (Renazzo Vorstiner edition) – This is Canelo Alvarez’s most costly vehicle, and it is undeniably stunning. This car is even more uncommon than the Bugatti Chiron, despite the fact that it is not as quick. The stunning dark blue metallic Lamborghini Gallardo LP 565 is a car that is more of a status symbol rather than an actual vehicle. The fact that this Lamborghini Gallardo is made of a two-by-two excellent prepreg carbon fiber composite with floating dual aero fins that expand outwards makes it unique. Of course, this may sound like technical jargon, so to simplify things, let’s just say it runs better, accelerates quicker, and looks better than the regular Lamborghini Gallardo. And for this fancy build quality and design it’s even more expensive than the regular Gallardo and it costs upwards of $3 million.
The G63 AMG six by six is one of the most popular cars in Alvarez’s collection. The six by six is a huge off-road vehicle with six wheels capable of devouring any obstacle. Alvarez is frequently pictured posing in front of this massive car. Alvarez, whose top speed is limited to 100 mph, makes the most of his 560 pounds per foot torque while strolling across rugged terrain. Despite the fact that the automobile weighs 4 1/2 tons, it can reach 60 mph in 7.6 seconds. This Mercedes-Benz Bravos G63 six-by-six costs $1.35 million in the United States.
SLR Mercedes-Benz McLaren – Canelo’s car collection also includes another McLaren. This car was often regarded as the best of both McLaren and Mercedes value. San Diego mansion – Alvarez may be a middleweight boxer, but his mansion in San Diego is anything but middleweight. The estate is located in the city’s Rancho Pacifica neighborhood and has a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. The single-story home is designed to be light and airy, with high ceilings that give it a grand atmosphere. The sitting room has elevated wooden beams, and it also includes a library. The property features a large kitchen with a pizza oven, so you can prepare your own late-night munchies if you want to. You can dine in the indoor-outdoor lounge close to the pool and spa, or relax in the backyard cabana surrounded by palm trees and groomed hedges. A mansion isn’t complete without a theater room obviously. The theater looks really gorgeous thanks to the unique chairs and wood paneled walls. It also boasts a game area with a built-in bar and enough space for a decent party that is equal parts practical and elegant. The master bedroom has an incredible bathroom that appears like it came straight out of a movie. His and hers closets are housed in multiple wood paneled armoires with space for a seating area. The estate has a separate one-bedroom pool house where overnight guests can relax in comfort. The mansion wouldn’t be the home of a great boxer like Alvarez if it didn’t include a magnificent fitness center, which it does. This house, which cost a total of $6 million, was one of Canelo’s most valuable possessions. However in 2015 the San Diego mansion was sold and Canelo Alvarez moved to his birthplace Guadalajara. Although we don’t exactly know much about this mansion or how much it cost him we sure as hell know it costs a fortune.
He isn’t only a fan of exotic automobiles. Alvarez is a sneakerhead to a degree. He spent nearly $19,000 on sneakers and a hoodie when he went sneaker shopping with Complex. During the conversation, he spoke about his admiration for one of Kobe Bryant’s Nike shoes, the Kobe 9 Elite. In addition, Alvarez stated that he like to run in a pair of Sauconys. Alvarez finished his buying trip with a $15,000 Supreme x Louis Vuitton hoodie and five pairs of sneakers. He bought four pairs of Nike Air Max 90s in various colors, as well as one pair of Adidas EQT Support ADVs. The total cost of these five products was almost $19,800.
Another fancy means of transportation that Canelo owns would be his yacht. Canelo’s most opulent property is a $30 million black yacht with jet skis, a jetty, and a raft. When it comes to lavish belongings, a luxury yacht is only really second to a private jet. It probably won’t be long though before he purchases his very own private jet too. The inside details of this yacht are not really known to the public but we’re sure it’s nothing less than extraordinary and meant that he had to throw in a lot of money to purchase it.
He is noted for his altruistic heart in addition to being one of the finest at what he does. After becoming a pro, he has not forgotten to give back to his community. When a 7.1 magnitude earthquake rocked Mexico in 2017, Alvarez contributed $1 million in supplies, medication, and construction equipment to help with disaster relief. He also volunteered to help load supplies into a truck headed for the damaged areas in his hometown. Alvarez also contributed 500,000 pesos to Red Nose in 2020 to help children with cancer. In a similar vein, he provided autographed gloves to help raise donations. Canelo Alvarez also made a huge effort in his country to combat the Covid 19 outbreak. He gave 950 personal medical kits to health workers at the Hospital Civil de Guadalajara. Later, he made a generous gesture by paying for his 17-year-old fan’s lung transplant. Then he paid for Adamary Guadalupe Sanchez’s brain tumor, which was preventing her from walking.
We don’t see celebrities just spending on themselves only obviously. Alvarez also gives back in addition to the luxuries that he owns and several more he purchases on the regular. We are yet to see more extraordinary purchases in the future!
